Stories of Autism:
A Brief History
In October of 2005 photographer Charles Cotugno began Stories of Autism as a small portrait project to promote autism awareness. As word spread about the project, more and more families of autism wanted to be part of it and share their experiences with the rest of the world.
In 2009, Stories of Autism was established as a non-profit organization. Since then the project has grown to include over 100 photographers from around the U.S. and Canada who have created over 350 fine art images, all displayed in our web galleries and in exhibits across the United States. The project has also been featured in many of the photographic industry's leading magazines and websites as well as in television segments in many of the country's major markets.
