Cyprian was born on September 13th, 2008. He started out life normally. He hit all the milestones on time. He was happy, bubbly full of joy; until the age of 2. When Cyprian began withdraw from the world he went from being very interactive boy to a child who lost interest in everything. He kept running through the house. He seemed restless and unsettled.
He stopped looking at us and the few words he knew has disappeared from his vocabulary. Our journey into world of autism began when Cyprian was 2 ½ years old.
Today Cyprian is 8 years old and he adores Mickey Mouse and Goofy. He loves playing with letters, numbers and animals. His lack of verbal communication continues to be a struggle on a daily basis. He is starting to say words and simple sentences but still is consider non-verbal. In addition, he has a particularly difficult mix of obsessive compulsive and stubborn behavior.
Cyprian brings us a joy everyday! He is a loving, energetic and very affectionate little man. My son is the bravest, most courageous and amazing little boy. Every day he works so hard, he fights for every word and to overcome sensory barriers. I am proud of his successes, no matter how small they seem.
I am so proud of whom he has become. He taught me not to take anything for granted and that autism never takes a day off.
We still have a long road ahead of us to reach his full potential. He has made tremendous progress over the past years and that gives us hope for future. My dream is that one day my son Cyprian will live in a world where he will be accepted and appreciated, despite his autism.
Cyprian you have so much love to give. You’re my whole world. My Very Special Son.
